About
I’m passionate about exploring and creating at the intersection of learning, work, technology, and human thriving.
I am currently a freelance consultant.
Previously, I served as the Director of Community Research at VELA Education Fund, a national nonprofit that provides community, resources, and funding for everyday entrepreneurs launching and operating organizations in the unconventional education space.
Prior to VELA, I served as a Strategic Partnerships Manager for Western Governors University (WGU), an online, competency-based, fully-accredited, nonprofit university; I served as the strategy and business development advisor for Take Action Global — an international nonprofit dedicated to environmental justice through climate education and action; and I served as a research consultant and subject matter expert in entrepreneurial mindset for the Department of Basic Education of the Republic of South Africa.
Previously, I worked at the Kauffman Foundation, the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative, Real World Scholars, and EdSpace. In each role, I leveraged my relentless curiosity to make connections between practices, programs, and people, to help my teams create and deliver results.
I’ve been an invited author, speaker, and podcast guest. I hold a BA in psychology, an MS in sport psychology, and a PhD in educational psychology — with an emphasis on adolescent development, non-formal learning environments, and youth—adult partnerships.
I live with my wife, two sons, and dog, in Metro Detroit.
